Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji has reacted from prison regarding the selection of the rapporteur for his case at the Supreme Court.
Through a post on social media, Salianji has described the judicial process against him as "hostage", while accusing that every decision is made on the orders of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
He states that the Supreme Court has appointed two different panels and rapporteurs for his case.
"Now, they continue with the slander of injustice, bringing out two bodies and two different rapporteurs for my case, no less and no more but in the Supreme Court! It is clear. This is not a trial, but hostage-taking. I am being held hostage by a criminal organization that has an interest in keeping me away from elections and public activity, after I have proven hundreds of times the corruption and the government's connections with crime, just as I have defeated them in every electoral confrontation! The goal is no longer hidden.
I should be kept in prison, not allowed to engage in politics, campaign, run for office! The change or manipulation of the lottery is done to delay the review and decision-making and also to keep the judges under pressure by creating two bodies. One body that will review the case, and one as a guarantee for the government's needs! This is autocracy in action, this is the power of the ruler. This is the regime! Everyone will be held accountable, the day is coming , "writes Salianji.
