Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, has harshly criticized the government for the worsening situation in the agricultural sector, describing it as one of the most discriminated against and poorly funded sectors.
In a video published on social networks, Tabaku emphasized that Albanian farmers have been left without support, while IPARD funds of 120 million euros, provided by the European Union for farmers, have been diverted through corrupt schemes in favor of oligarchs.
"Today, instead of increasing domestic production, imports are increasing by 20%. Albanian products cannot be sold abroad, while Albanian products are no longer available in supermarkets. Farmers have been abandoned by the state and are facing increased taxes, reduced subsidies and a total lack of attention from the government ," said Tabaku.
The MP emphasized that the government has focused its attention on construction and concreting, neglecting the agricultural sector, one of the main pillars of the Albanian economy.
She called for a change in the economic model and concrete support for farmers, through increased subsidies, tax cuts, and new incentives that can bring development and growth in domestic production.
"Farmers don't need loans, they need real support! This government must stop corruption and invest where Albanians need it most, in the countryside and agriculture," concluded the DP MP.
