Today, democrat Ervin Salianji held a meeting with the democrats in Himara. In a post on his social network, Salianji openly criticized the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
Salianji states that it is unacceptable for the leadership that currently leads the Democrats to destroy competitions, to pilot mayors without consulting the membership, and, even worse, to exclude members and leaders of structures from decision-making.
"The Democratic Party should be the model of moral superiority in the face of the government."
If Edi Rama and his government have devastated Albania through misgovernance, it is unacceptable that the leadership that today leads the Democrats destroys competitions, pilots mayors without asking the membership and, even worse, excludes members and leaders of structures from decision-making.
Today I was in Himara, together with the branch secretary, the two former branch chairmen, the former mayoral candidate and the leader of the former politically persecuted, to hear the real concerns of the democrats regarding the farce that has been unfolding in this branch. What is happening in Himara is unacceptable for any democrat who believes in principles and a free vote.
Democrats decide. Democrats should be heard.
"They are the owners of the Democratic Party and the biggest sacrificers in the face of the regime. Without respect for the membership, there is no moral opposition; without internal democracy, there is no credibility in the face of citizens," Salianji wrote.
