Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has filed a recourse with the High Court against the security measure imposed by the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), which banned her from leaving the country. Balluku is seeking the annulment or amendment of the security measure, against the GJKKO Appeals decision, which left this measure in force.
We recall that the travel ban was previously imposed by the GJKKO, as part of an investigation being conducted by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK).
The Supreme Court is expected to decide in the coming days whether or not to accept the appeal filed by the Deputy Prime Minister. In the meantime, we recall that the issue of the suspension from office against Belinda Balluku is under review by the Constitutional Court. The latter has heard the parties and has requested time to make a decision.
