Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected today the provisional road on the Librazhd-Prrenjas axis, after the damaged segment has been temporarily stabilized.
During the visit, he spoke about the causes that led to the road landslide and the work being done to fully restore traffic.
Rama stated that the damage to the road is not related to construction abuses, but to the old condition of the road and a natural process of landslides. According to him, public discussions about corruption are unfounded.
"It was rumored that the road collapsed due to corruption, but it is very clear that the segment was old and the landslide was related to a completely natural phenomenon. We live in a time when, as the saying goes, lies go around the world before the truth has even put on its pants. This is a daily experience.
The truth always comes out in the end and wins, it just takes patience and perseverance. I am sorry that this has disrupted the rhythm of life for many residents, but in any case, we are here today to clarify for you the new deadlines we have set for ourselves.
"We are very aware of the damage, the obstacles and to ensure that the work continues without rest so that we can quickly correct this segment and close this wound. We will do it quickly, but well. It cannot be done in a day, as quickly but well. So that this wound is finally closed", said Prime Minister Rama.
He added that the institutions are aware of the difficulties the situation has created for residents and for traffic on this road axis. According to him, field work will continue without interruption to restore the normal functioning of the segment.
