DP MP Saimir Korreshi spoke about "Speech 2" and its importance, which was held on Monday in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
Korreshi was critical of the government, saying that it never addresses the concerns and problems of citizens, but only has time to steal Albanians' money.
Korresh also spoke about the Democratic Party's strategy, saying that it is very important to reorganize due to the clashes that have engulfed the opposition.
" It depends on what the expectations are. The DP has all the potential to mount a grand protest. But you know there is also the financial side. All the people spend to come to Tirana. All the democrats who have been spending for 12 years. Today for the democrats who have been closing the doors of every institution for every Albanian for 12 years, that is a lot. If a rally or protest is going to be called every Monday, I think you should also take into consideration the financial side of the citizens. Even yesterday's rally, we saw, has direct problems. Farmers are the most damaged. These days the government has not had the mind, but it has more time to protect its minister to compile documents. So what we have created is for citizens to have the opportunity to express their concerns ," he said.
Further during the interview, Korreshi emphasized that "Foltorja 2" is the voice of the citizens. He also touched on the situation in the Democratic Party, saying that political parties have problems at all times.
" I think things are going the way they are going in SPAK. There were moments when I lost faith, like the 2025 elections, because I expected much more from SPAK. But having said that, I expect more because our voice is the Commission that we continue to denounce. Denunciations have been made by all the deputies or the chairman of the parliamentary group that we have seen who has filed denunciations, all the corrupt are going to the doors of SPAK, we have seen it. I think that the voice is not just the podium.
I would much rather have the people themselves be the Speaker…We are seeing how the Albanian lek is being stolen and how it has been divided. Or has it been given to certain people. We have seen warehousemen taking over ports in Vlora. The opposition PD definitely has its own problems. But, since 2009 that I have been participating in the PD and as far as Lushnja is concerned, it has been a long period and when a political party goes into opposition, the ranks break. And many people have zero expectations. The opposition has the duty to seek a technical government and the departure of the government. We must win the hearts of those who are the alternative and I believe this is the most difficult part.
We have seen dozens of directors or ministers appear in SPAK. For me, the state has fallen. Today, the only reason that this government is standing is what the opposition has gone through. Because in addition to all the theft that has occurred and the situation we are facing, I think that the reorganization of structures is necessary, it should be seen by the people as a governing alternative.
Regarding the problems that the DP went through, we have a problem that we continue to have each other as "unadorned". After all the clashes we have those scars. The DP is going through an electoral cycle, regeneration, with every new element to become attractive even for the few people who are left here ", added Korreshi in "Studio 24".
