MP Lulzim Basha spoke about the toxic waste scandal. In a press conference, Basha said that he is considering the possibility of sending Kurum's case, from the current Prosecutor's Office that is pursuing it, to SPAK.
He said that what has emerged is the tip of the iceberg for the hundreds of tons of poison that have been caught being transported.
"Our team of lawyers is looking at the possibility of sending the case of KURUM from the current Prosecutor's Office, which is pursuing it, to the Special Anti-Corruption Structure. Investigating all the aspects that may constitute a basis for considering this as an act of a structured criminal group with high-ranking officials under SPAK's jurisdiction. And this is not just the tip of the iceberg for the hundreds of tons of poison that have been caught was transported. It is about the presence of these poisons on a daily basis in Elbasan and throughout the country and the terrible health consequences that this has for the citizens of Elbasan and the whole of Albania," said Basha.
