The former mayor of Durres, Vangjush Dako, has been transferred to the detention center of Durres, in a cell with the former MP of the SP, Alqi Ballko.
Yesterday, the Special Anti-Corruption Court (GJKKO) left former mayor Vangjush Dako in prison, under charges of abuse of office and falsification of documents.
The former number one of the city of Durrës was present in the courtroom, where he denied the charges. He has claimed that he has implemented the law and that he has signed documents prepared by specialists. Through the lawyer, Dako requested a milder security measure, but this request was not accepted by the court.
Meanwhile, for the surveyor Adrian Bulku, GJKKO imposed "house arrest", while the black squads gave a lighter measure to one of the members of the working group for the tender for consulting services, the provision of a project called "Implementation design for the Promenade Coastal and public beach from Bërryli to Currila", Diana Dedja. For the latter, "obligation to appear" was assigned.
The first report about Dako was made by the residents of a building in district number 5, the building which became uninhabitable after the earthquake of 2019. According to the residents, the construction permit was given in violation of the law, as the building was completed with 4 additional floors .
The second report was made by the former head of the Durres Democratic Party, Ferdinand Xhaferraj, according to whom Dako wasted public funds for a road that was tendered, but not realized. Xhaferraj's lawsuit is also supported by two reports of the High State Control, where for the Beach road project from Bërryli to Currila, damage to the state budget in the amount of 18 million ALL has been caused. According to SPAK, Vangjush Dako, not only did not take measures for the Control of the Limit Fund Calculation Commission, but also approved the procurement order with the value proposed by this commission, which caused damage to the state in the amount of 18 million Lek.
After the arrest warrant signed by SPAK, Dako was handed over to the premises of the Tirana Police Directorate on the afternoon of June 6, making himself available to justice and the investigations launched against him.
