McLaughlin & Associates CEO John McLaughlin has released survey data regarding the May 11 parliamentary elections.
The poll was made public on the Top Story show on Top Channel, which collaborated with the pollster who predicted President Donald Trump's result in the US presidential election.
Referring to published data, 50.7% of respondents in the survey conducted by McLaughlin & Associates think that Albania is moving in a "good direction".
10.3% of respondents think the country is headed "very well", indicating a total of 61% of citizens expressing a positive attitude regarding the direction of the country.
On the other hand, 47.5% of citizens consider Albania's direction to be wrong, while 23.1% are more harsh in their stance, considering it a "very wrong direction." In total, 70.6% of respondents express a negative opinion about the country's governance.
Only 1.5% of respondents said that Albania is neither in a good nor a bad direction, while 0.2% did not know or refused to answer.
"We will conduct two more, we do door-to-door surveys, what is interesting is that there are even pre-election surveys, they have few changes, the Albanian electorate is more or less like the American one, its ranking is 53 in favor, 43 unfavorable, 46 opposition to it, people who like it or support it are somewhere around 1% of the vote. There is not much fluctuation, it could be a battle that could reach at least 1% to cross the threshold.
It is more of a left-center country, meaning that there are one in 10 who call themselves left-wing and one in 10 who call themselves centrist. Berisha, who is the main opposition candidate, has 39% of the votes on his side, when you look at the prime minister's votes and compare them to Berisha's, Berisha has 1 in 4 who call themselves centrist while the prime minister has almost half.
"The centrists aim to get closer to the prime minister, then we have the smaller parties. We identify those people who are inclined to vote, there are people who have expressed that they are not interested, the champion relies on those who always vote and the main elections," said McLaughlin.
