Lawyer Spartak Ngjela commented on Edi Rama's statements today at the end-of-year conference with journalists.
Ngjela said that 'violation of equality in tenders' is a criminal offense and that Rama is afraid of the work of the Special Prosecution Office.
The lawyer added that Albania is today under strict international control, as you cannot join the EU if you are affected by corruption.
" He is scared because he no longer controls corruption in Albania. The internationals control it. But it is not so easy to change the laws. Inequality in tenders is an analysis and investigation that is being carried out for Albania to enter the EU. Why does Rama have it in his hands?
"The inequality in tenders is pure corruption because the government runs the tender and gives it to its own companies. It is open abuse. This shows that Rama is scared. Investigative analyses may have come from major Western bodies. There are many reasons why Albania is controlled because you cannot enter the EU with corruption," said Ngjela.
Ngjela said that SPAK is controlled by internationals, who invest in this institution, while adding that US experts have not withdrawn from cooperation with the Special Prosecution Office.
"The Americans are in SPAK. It is not true that they have withdrawn. What will SPAK do because SPAK is not led by Rama. It is led by internationals who pay for it," said the lawyer.
With a general assessment, Ngjela considers SPAK's work to be very good and that the focus of justice today is on high-ranking state officials, which according to Spartak Ngjela has also frightened Rama.
"The work of SPAK is very good. Have you seen where they have focused the criminal lawsuit? Prime Minister, ministers, mayors, MPs, are these few? Not only are they scaring Rama, but even God, if he had anything to do with this, they would have scared him," Spartak Ngjela said on 'Studio Live'.
