"The National Assembly should convene", Ivi Kaso: Analysis of the

Amid the dilemma of accepting or rejecting mandates, the Democrats are awaiting the convening of forums to resolve questions about the path the opposition should take in the new legislature.

Time is not on the opposition's side, as the mandate of the old Assembly ends on September 10 and the new one is expected to be convened, imposing rapid decision-making.

" The dilemma is legitimate, for the opposition to confront these institutions, despite not recognizing their legitimacy, or simply to be content with not recognizing and ignoring them. The first days of September, the Presidency of the Democratic Party, the National Council and - I have proposed together with many other colleagues - the holding of a National Assembly in the near future, which will determine the main points of the political action of the Democratic Party and will make important decisions ", says Ivi Kaso, an elected deputy of the Democratic Party. The old ones propose radical paths, but the young ones, who are waiting to sit in the deputy's chair for the first time, support the option of battle within the institutions.

" My position is that the DP does not have the luxury of abandoning any battle trench. The DP and the opposition must take the mandates, despite the fact that in a Parliament that completely lacks legitimacy, emerging from a pair of elections that were completely unequal, it must wage its battle and advance it in these forums as well ," adds Ivi Kaso.

In an interview for Top Channel, elected MP Ivi Kaso admits that refreshing the structures and reforming the party after the defeat should not be taboo. The DP must put its finger on the wound to understand its mistakes, through an analysis that should not be used for "scapegoating".

" This analysis is time to start from the top down, that is, from the performance assessment of the Presidency of the Democratic Party, with its political leaders, secretaries, the high executive hierarchy, to move on to the assessment of the work of each member of the National Council, then move on to the performance assessment at the branch level, group of sections, going all the way to the most recent section. Thus, this story of refreshing and reformatting the party is certainly not a taboo. After such an electoral process, as was the electoral farce of May 11, the party needs to see at least a new generation approaching to take on the political and organizational responsibilities that belong to it ," he tells TCH journalist Elda Menga.

For the analysis, he proposes that a working group be established, composed of personalities from the Democratic Party who were not part of the May 11 electoral race, while only the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, should be amnestied, who, in Ivi Kaso's opinion, has worked harder than anyone. / Top Channel
