The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has harshly attacked the book "The Albanian Files" during a media conference held this Monday, July 7. According to him, the book constitutes a "black file" that, according to his claims, documents the looting of properties in the south of the country and the way construction projects on the coast were approved.
Berisha claimed that investment permits have been issued in areas where construction is not allowed and that money from drug trafficking is being invested on the coast. According to him, the projects developed in these areas are involved in corruption and were approved with the support of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
"Construction permits have been issued in areas where they are not allowed. Drug traffickers have all gathered together and are investing and building on the coast. There are a series of projects that are full of corruption. Rama himself and his relatives have looted properties in the south. The book 'Albanian Files' with a foreword by Edi Rama is in fact the most horrific criminal dossier of 35 years. Rama treats Albania as a personal fiefdom," said Berisha.
Further, the leader of the Democrats described the book as "the most serious accusation" against a prime minister, claiming that it proves violations of the Constitution and national and international laws.
He also accused what he called the "dangerous mafia" of destroying the hilly areas in the south and depopulating the coast through criminal money.
"The red book 'Albanian Dossier' is the most serious accusation against a prime minister or president of the republic, against a dictator of any type of dictatorship, which proves that this man does not know the Constitution, does not know national or international laws. The tentacles of the dangerous mafia that are flattening the hills and undoing everything in the south, are de facto depopulating the coasts of Albania with the force of narcoeurs. The projects in the book were commissioned under the guidance of Edi Rama, the projects were approved by Rama", declared Berisha.
