A session has been underway in the Assembly for several hours, where the heads of justice institutions are reporting. After the Prosecutor General, Olsian Çela, the annual report was presented to the Assembly by the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani.
Meanwhile, one of the opposition MPs, Erald Kapri from 'Mundësia', has called on the Special Prosecution Office not to stop in its mission.
He said that he encourages SPAK not to be intimidated by the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama, as according to him, it is a historic mission to bring anyone to justice.
"In these 35 years, Albanians have suffered from a lack of justice. It is a fact that Albanians have not received their properties and have been hit by arbitrary power. And in fact, economic freedom is selective, who wins and who should stay.
It has long been said that we are returning to a 'Republic of Prosecutors' and if that were the case, it would be good, because the biggest problem remains impunity. Whatever people in power did, no one was affected. I am one of those who think that we should not deny the work of SPAK, because this institution has hit individuals in power. But this is not enough. When the ministry is arrested, and the prime minister remains unharmed, this is not justice.
"I want to encourage SPAK prosecutors not to be intimidated by the Prime Minister's threats when he tells them: don't you dare touch my phone. Because this is a historic mission to bring anyone to justice," said Kapri.
