Tony Blair as mediator to restore friendship with Mitsotakis? Rama: We

After nearly 60 minutes on the Beleri and Himara issue, the Greek journalist had a warm conversation with Prime Minister Edi Rama, when he asked him if you would accept Tony Blair as a mediator between you and Mitsotakis, in order to restore friendship.

"Friendship? We don't need an English speaker who doesn't know Albanian or Greek, to make a Greek and an Albanian together, because, then, I'm afraid Tony will have the problem, not us.", said Rama.

Excerpt from the interview:

Reporter: I think I have asked most of the questions, but I would like to ask two more. It is well documented that you have a political association with Tony Blair and Alastair Campbell. Would you accept Tony Blair as a mediator between you and Mitsotakis to resolve the "Beleri" issue?

Rama: But what will Tony Blair do? What could he do?

Journalist: To return your friendship again.

Rama: Friendship? No, I'm telling you, and I'm very honest about it, I don't have any kind of feeling of "why was I friends with this person? Why did I trust this man?" No, I have him as a friend and I trust him. I told you, politics can be a very bad influence and, sometimes, politics has destroyed very beautiful minds and great hearts...

Reporter: Yes, absolutely.

Rama: But it doesn't change my feelings. Cirjakosi for me is a modern leader and what is happening now is not modern, it is ancient and it should not happen! But I don't know exactly the motives. I think this is very simple, it is very simple and all this doubt, all these conspiracy theories, all this crazy idea that Himara is an arena where we have to fight how Greek we are or how Albanian we are, all this is not it is healthy. It's too much ink.

Reporter: Mr Prime Minister, this is Tony Blair's job, to explain the situation to both capitals

Rama: Lighter? I don't know, I don't know if he can explain it to Kirijakos, but I don't think we need another language in between. I speak Albanian, he speaks Greek. He (Qirjakosi) speaks English better than me, but I speak English well enough, so we don't need an English speaker who knows neither Albanian nor Greek to make a Greek and an Albanian together, because, then, I'm afraid that Tony will have the problem, not us.
