A video has sparked controversy in France, where the MP of the "France Invincible" party, Louis Boyard, is seen secretly removing his luxury watch before appearing in a live interview with BFMTV.
Boyard, known for his attacks on the wealthy, was being filmed as the National Assembly prepared to vote on a no-confidence motion that Jean-Luc Mélenchon's party had filed against Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu. The incident sparked a backlash on social media, with users calling it hypocrisy, highlighting the contrast between his political message and his lavish lifestyle.
After the controversy, the MP released an explanatory video, where he stated that the watch was not a Rolex, but a 295 euro Tissot, a gift from his friends, and that he usually took it off to avoid damaging it in front of the cameras. He also accused some media outlets of misinformation against him.
