Another democrat has left the opposition ranks. The former leader of the Democratic Party in Saranda, Manjola Nikollo, has joined the Socialist Party.

Manjola Nikollo resigned as chairwoman of the DP in Saranda to participate in the primaries, then she also withdrew from participating in the open list of the DP in the Vlora district on May 11.

Nikollo is reported to have been appointed as deputy mayor of the coastal city yesterday.

Her appointment comes in the wake of the transition of several representatives from the ranks of the Democrats to those of the Socialist Party.

We recall that former MP Zheni Gjergji has also joined the Socialists, after being appointed director of the "Dr. Xhaferr Kongoli" Regional Hospital in Elbasan.
