The President of the European Affairs Commission, Jorida Tabaku, has welcomed the American Secretary of State, Blinken, who is coming to Albania for the first time today.
While evaluating Albania-USA relations, Tabaku says that we must rise to another level to attract American investments.
She emphasizes that US support in these critical moments for the country is vital and necessary.
According to Tabak, the fight against corruption, economic development, the effort for a functioning justice system, an efficient parliament, and the aim should be to strengthen trade relations are also vital.
"Today's visit of Secretary Blinken is a clear sign of this cooperation that is getting stronger every day. At the end of the most brutal dictatorship in Europe, Secretary Baker was the man who brought the wind of change to a country hungry for freedom. It was the USA that supported the integration process and further the main driver of NATO entry. It was precisely President Bush who pronounced the reality of Kosovo's independence from Tirana that gave life to the dream of the Albanians, a dream made possible by the help of President Clinton in the difficult year of 1999. It was the wisdom and commitment of the USA in the Ohrid agreement that gave the possibility of an Albanian prime minister being in charge of North Macedonia" , Tabaku writes, among other things.
