The President of the Republic Bajram Begaj has revealed details regarding a conversation he had with the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and at the same time with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani.
Begaj said that the conversation with Tajani was quite warm and fraternal in the spirit of cooperation that exists between the countries.
He said that he discussed with the Italian minister about the problems and challenges that the world faces today, as well as about the region in particular, focusing on the values that Albania promotes, such as peace and security.
They also discussed the relations between the two countries, stating that there is an opportunity to do more in trade exchanges between the countries, as well as to increase Italy's presence in Albania.
"It was a very warm and fraternal conversation with the deputy prime minister in the spirit of cooperation that we have between the countries. It was discussed among the problems and challenges that the world faces today, as well as about the region in particular. It was considered valuable that Albania is a country that promotes peace, security and sustainable development in the region. The meeting was fruitful and I believe it will continue in the future in this spirit.
Strategic partnership relations definitely have opportunities to do more in increasing trade exchanges. But as an investor in the country, it is in fourth place and we think that an increased presence of Italy in the country would be good. I appreciated the Italian hospitality given to the Albanians to build their lives in their country. Arbëresh and the new diaspora are a good opportunity for exchange between our countries", said Begaj in an interview for News24.
