Albanian immigrants living abroad can register on the voter list without having to provide proof of their residential address in the country where they live and work. The changes were approved on Thursday by the Election Regulatory Commission with 5 votes in favor.
The CEC says that these changes create ease in the registration of voters who do not possess a proof of address document in their name.
In this case, they have the option to use as proof of address in the PER, the supporting document in the name of a family member or someone else with no family relationship between them.
The Regulatory Commission also reviewed and approved the draft decision "On the rules of conduct of public institutions in elections and the prohibition of the misuse of public assets".
