The name Vata won in the primaries and is expected to be the speaker's candidate for the partial elections for the Municipality of Kukës.
He won with 271 votes in this process, while the number of participating voters was 860.
In the primaries of 2022, the number of participants was around 940 voters.
Today the Democrats of Kuksi voted for their candidate for the municipality, who will compete on September 24, in the early elections after the sexual scandal of Safet Gjic.
In the election of Vata, the primaries process was applied with the principle of one member, one vote, for the selection of the candidate who will represent the PD and the opposition forces in the elections of September 24, 2023.
The voting process started at 08:00 and ended at 18:00.
The names of the candidates in the race were Ardian Elezi, Emri Vata, Gëzim Shehu, Uran Cengu, Ylber Zeneli.
Now, after the primaries, the formalization of the name of the candidate is expected from the official DP led by Lulzim Basha.
Meanwhile, Albert Halilaj will be the candidate of the Socialist Party for mayor of Kukës.
His name was approved by the Assembly of the Socialist Party, while the decision was announced by the political leader of the district, Pandeli Majko.
"Difficulty is a challenge and not an obstacle for our family! We will make it!", said Majko.
Halilaj has been holding the position of the Prefect of the Kuka District for a few days now.
These elections in Kukës come after the resignation of the former socialist mayor, Safet Gjici, who was involved in a sexual scandal.
