The quarrel between Bulgaria and North Macedonia, which has blocked the advancement of the latter in the EU, is also being transferred to Albania. Official Sofia has launched a diplomatic offensive in the areas that Skopje calls as part of the Macedonian minority.

According to an announcement from the Bulgarian embassy in Tirana, one of the best Bulgarian cardiologists has arrived in Pustec to perform free visits for the residents, while the investments for water pipes and infrastructure continue.

"The 'Bulgarian Memory' Foundation will provide free cardiological examinations in the region of Prespa e Vogël where there is a Bulgarian minority in Albania

Bulgaria's national cardiology consultant Prof. Ivo Petrov, together with a team of doctors from the Hospital "Acibadem City Clinic" (Sofje) will conduct free examinations at the Health Center in Pustec on August 19 and 20, 2023. Anyone who wants to consult the best Bulgarian cardiologist can make an appointment in advance.

Bulgarian doctors will perform examinations together with Albanian colleagues, exchanging experience in accordance with the Agreement between the governments of Albania and Bulgaria on cooperation in the field of health.

The most modern equipment of the "Acibadem City Clinic" hospital in Sofia will be used for the visits. One of the devices used during the visits – a defibrillator – will then be donated to the Pustec Health Center for the needs of local patients.

The organizer is Dr. Milen Vrabevski and his "Bulgarian Memory" foundation, while the initiative is under the auspices of the Bulgarian Foreign Minister Mrs. Mary Gabriel.

This is the next charitable initiative of Dr. Vrabevski in the area where the Bulgarian national minority also lives. In 2020, he donated a fire engine, an ambulance and an SUV to the municipality of Pustec for social patronage. The water supply system in the village of Tuminec was renewed, making it possible to supply 24 hours of water to two of the nine villages of Prespa e Madhe. With the financial support of the "Bulgarian Memory" Foundation, new furniture was purchased and a computer room was provided at the school in Pustec. Again Dr. Vrabevski helped the reconstruction and asphalting of the road between the village of Vërnik and the city of Bilishte within the framework of the "Development Aid" program of the Bulgarian government," the Bulgarian embassy in Albania announced.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, in the joint conference with the US special envoy, Gabriel Escobar, said that the negotiating framework with Bulgaria cannot be renegotiated.

Kovacevski said that the framework has its conditions and that there will be no new negotiations. With this negotiation framework that Macedonia has approved in the Assembly, the Macedonian identity is protected and the country's European future is ensured.

"Bilateral relations with Bulgaria will not affect the negotiations with the EU, and that in the future there will be no new conditions", Kovacevski said.

The Prime Minister said that the EU is the only alternative for the future of the country, and added that any other path is uncertain and that in the future no one can guarantee when they will be able to become members of the EU.
