Ervin Salianji spoke about the solution found by the opposition for the elections for the new mayor, which decided to be represented by independent candidates.
Salianji said that this solution reduced divisions and united the entire opposition. He stated that although the candidates are non-partisan, they belong to the opposition and are supported by it.
"This is a solution to reduce all differences for a candidate who comes from the party. It is a solution for unity, since the entire opposition factor has supported these non-partisan candidates, but they are opposition candidates without question, since they are supported by the opposition. Their less or not at all partisan profile means that citizens also have the opportunity to avoid negative perceptions of politics," said Salianji.
Furthermore, the former Democratic MP stated that another goal in these elections is to attract votes from the gray electorate.
"We aim to get the gray votes as well. We are in the campaign, the candidates are meeting with the people. I think it is an unproven solution and I hope it will be successful. I think the gray layer will identify with these non-partisan candidates ," Salianji told "A2 CNN".
