Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed deep gratitude to Gianni Buquicchio, former President of the Venice Commission, for his patience and efforts during cooperation with Albania.
Rama has also joked with the former president of the Venice Commission, telling him that you need to have iron patience to deal with Albanians.
"I cannot help but close with a thank you to Gianni Buquicchio for his patience. Patience that takes on a heroic quality, if you consider that Gianni is Italian and that shows how much patience is needed when dealing with us Albanians, even though you may be Italian but are not part of a nation that is not distinguished for the virtue of patience. For all that patience and effort to navigate the waves of Albanian politics and to find the point of balance between the many extremes that you have had to face, I am very grateful to you. There is no doubt that if Albania does not dedicate a monument, and it is better not to dedicate it because we have a not very long-term relationship with monuments, you deserve a monument in the memory of those who worked in the Venice Commission", Rama said.
