Democratic Party MP Ina Zhupa visited the Vergo administrative unit in Delvina, which was engulfed in flames.
She stated that the damage the fire caused to residents is extraordinary, asking the government and the respective municipalities to compensate families damaged by the fires that affected several forest areas in coastal villages.
Zhupa also said that a joint working group with representatives of local and central government should be immediately established to go house to house and fully document the damage caused by this disaster.
"We are located in the Vergo administrative unit, after we met the residents of the villages of this administrative unit that, unfortunately, were engulfed in flames, which have caused extraordinary damage to the property of the residents of this area - to citrus fruits, to olive trees, to livestock.
Of course it is a very unfortunate situation, very catastrophic. The residents are all affected and are hopeless about what will happen in the future.
We are here not only to provide support to them, but to call from this area for the government and the municipality to follow what the law requires.

Evidence is important, as is full monetary compensation for the residents, so that they can recover and continue their lives in these villages blessed by God, but apparently impossible to live in the conditions that have already been inflicted on them by the fire.
Damages must be compensated quickly, effectively and fully.
We should not see the same management as happened with the fires in the post-fire situation.
"We must stand by the residents, in such a way that we have hope for these villages, so that they too choose to remain in Albania ," said Zhupa.
