President Vjosa Osmani traveled to Shkodra, Albania, on the occasion of November 28.
She was received by the Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, and by the Ambassador of Albania to Kosovo, Petrit Malaj.
For Osmani, both Kosovo and Albania stand strong, proud and on the right path to EU integration today.
" Each visit to Shkodra is special. It is a pleasure to return again. It is a city that has helped Kosovo in the most difficult moments. You know that even in 1998-1999, the citizens of Gjakova have stayed here. Shkodra has been by our side even in our reconstruction. And now we are moving forward as two states aiming for EU integration. It is an emotion that on the eve of the flag holiday we find ourselves in Shkodra.
"For us it is a 4-fold celebration, the flag day, tomorrow is Independence Day, it is also the birthday of the legendary commander Adem Jashari and the anniversary of the first public appearance of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Both Kosovo and Albania stand strong, proud and on the right path to EU integration today ," said Osmani from Shkodra.
She further spoke about the government situation in the country, describing extraordinary elections as normal in a democratic system.
According to her, the Assembly should be constituted as soon as possible because the citizens of Kosovo are eagerly waiting for other decisions to be made for the good of the country.
" The political situations, or what Kosovo is facing due to the extraordinary elections, are normal in a democracy. My hope is that immediately after the elections we will have the constitution of the Assembly. I hope that we will have a government as soon as possible because the citizens of Kosovo are eagerly waiting. The holiday of November 28 unites all Albanians.
"Any initiative that brings Kosovo closer to Albania is very welcome. I believe that this road, Shkodër-Gjakovë, will open up even more other roads, not only physical and geographical, but also roads of cooperation, in the economy, tourism and culture ," said Osmani.
