The alarm is given in the north of Kosovo. As the tensions have reached their peak, the Kosovo police have captured in Zveçan a vehicle full of ammunition and combat weapons, which are suspected to be used in an attack on the local authorities.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has announced that the Kosovo Police today managed to identify a car with Belgrade license plates in which there was a large amount of weapons, including anti-tank shells.
" Thanks to the intensive engagement of the specialized units of the Kosovo Police and the information/intelligence received, a car with Belgrade license plates was identified today, about 100m from the Municipality of Zvecan, in which large quantities of weapons, explosive devices and various munitions, including Zolla, Osa, explosives, automatic weapons, a significant amount of ammunition, stun bombs, military uniforms and bags ," he said.
The minister further said that the weapons would be used for a terrorist attack in the north of Kosovo, targeting institutions and citizens. According to him, Belgrade is inciting destabilization in Kosovo.
" All these tools were intended and serve to carry out terrorist attacks against the citizens and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo. This is yet another proof that Serbia, through such groups and organizations, intends to destabilize our country ", Sveçla wrote.
He further said that the Kosovo Police, together with all other security bodies, continue their commitment in preventing any possible act that aims to undermine the security of the country.
" This case confirms the information received by the Security Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo that during the last weeks, cars and other vehicles with military weapons have entered Kosovo from the territory of Serbia ", said Sveçla.
The seizure of weapons is another signal that the Serbs in the north are preparing for armed attack and the fear is that there may be more weapons.
