The chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti, announced on Friday that he met the special envoy of the United States of America for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, who is staying for a two-day visit to North Macedonia.
Ahmeti said that the constitutional changes in North Macedonia and the developments in Kosovo were the main topics of the conversation.
He stated that Kosovo was a common concern, where both have assessed that the Ohrid Agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is historic and should be implemented without any delay.
"Mr. Escobar expressed full support for the European integration of the country, which is realized through the adoption of constitutional changes, while I emphasized our full readiness to tend to this process. Kosovo was our common concern, in which case we both appreciated that the Ohrid Agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is historic and should be implemented without any delay", wrote Ahmeti on his Facebook account.
The head of the DUI has added that the United States of America is the best and most valuable friend not only of Kosovo, but also of all Albanians and the entire region.
"However, Albanians in particular are grateful for the American role and contribution to freedom, peace and democracy, and this appreciation of all of us cannot be shaken," he concluded.
