From the moment Donald Trump was elected US president in November 2024, there was talk that difficult days were coming for Kosovo. This was due to the closeness that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić had long established with one of Trump's close people, Richard Grenell, but also because of the investment permits that Jared Kushner had obtained in Belgrade.
Now these rumors are becoming reality. It is precisely US President Donald Trump's nominee for Special Missions, Richard Grenell, who has dealt the first blow to Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, a few weeks before the elections.
Through a post on the "X" network, Grenell accused Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti of bringing Kosovo-US relations to the lowest point, while emphasizing the fact that Kurti was a supporter of Biden.

Meanwhile, in his post, he shared Kurti's article from July 22 of last year about Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from the US presidential race.
We recall that Grenell was the US envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue during Trump's first term.
On September 4, 2020, he pushed the parties towards reaching an agreement on economic normalization. Part of it was the recognition of Kosovo by Israel, but most of the other points have not been implemented.
