The high representative of the European Union for foreign policy, Josep Borrell, has called the kidnapping of three policemen by Serbian forces inside the territory of Kosovo on Wednesday an arrest.
In his reaction, Borrell said that he is in close contact with the commander of KFOR, Kosovo and Serbia to get information about the event.
" You know there was an incident there regarding the arrest of three police officers from Kosovo and we are trying to understand exactly what happened. We are in close contact with the commander of KFOR and both sides in order to see what really happened that led to this arrest ", he told reporters before the start of the meeting of EU interior ministers. with NATO, AP reports.
Further in his statement, the head of EU diplomacy announced that next week he will invite both countries to a meeting in Brussels.
"In the meantime, we must call for calm on the ground and seeing the situation getting worse every day, we are in a crisis management mode. I will invite both sides, Kosovo and Serbia, for a crisis management meeting here in Brussels next week ", he stated.
