The EU reacts again: The actions of the Kosovo government do not serve the

The spokesperson of the EU, Peter Stano, has reacted again regarding the recent political developments in Kosovo.

During a conference, Stano said that during the past week we have seen at least two examples of actions that have raised the concerns of the EU. One was the CBK regulation and the other was the police operation against some entities controlled by Serbia in the north of Kosovo.

" These actions do not contribute to the de-escalation of the situation. They are not coordinated, they are unilateral and they are undertaken without a necessary level of prior consultation in order to prevent the negative impact they may have on the people on the ground ," said Stano.

The EU spokesperson stated that the EU has reacted to both actions taken by the Kosovo authorities, while emphasizing that unilateral steps can lead to an escalation of the situation.

Stano requested that the parties return to the EU-facilitated dialogue.

" So, of course, it is worrying to see that the sequence of unilateral steps can lead to something that we do not want to see, and that is the escalation of the situation on the ground, because one thing is clear: it does not contribute to calming the situation and make people feel that their lives are getting better. So quite the opposite. Therefore, it is important to return to the dialogue facilitated by the EU and engage very seriously ", said Stano.
