The head of the EU for Foreign Policy, Joep Borrell, in the conference held after the meetings he had with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, said that he has asked Serbia for the immediate release of 3 Kosovar policemen.
He said that he made it clear to Vučić that the release of the policemen should be done immediately and without any conditions, as he added that the arrest and mistreatment of prisoners is completely unacceptable.
" I emphasized to President Vučić that the three policemen held in Serbia should be released immediately and unconditionally. The arbitrary arrest or ill-treatment of prisoners is completely unacceptable ," he said.
Meanwhile, he added that he made it clear to Kurt that he should withdraw the police from the municipalities in the north together with the mayors, who according to him should work in other offices until the new elections are held.
" Of course, we expect Kosovo to immediately suspend these operations in the vicinity of the municipal facilities in the north and the four mayors to temporarily withdraw from the municipal facilities, while Serbia must ensure that the protesters will be withdrawn from the municipal facilities, simultaneously with the police forces and then to announce the extraordinary elections in the four municipalities, with the condition, the participation of Kosovo Serbs ", said Borrell.
