A meeting was expected to take place today between the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani and the head of the Alliance Party for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj to discuss the Association.
However, it seems that Osmani was late for this meeting, on the other hand, Haradinaj did not wait and left.
The spokesman of AAK, Kushtrim Xhemaili, spoke about the failure of this meeting.
"Yesterday we had a good will to talk with President Osmani about the issues of importance for the country, especially about the draft statute of the Association. President Ramush Haradinaj and General Secretary Muharrem Nitaj were in the Presidency at the time set by President Osmani, but unfortunately the President did not respect the time set by herself and therefore the meeting did not take place" , Xhemaili said.
But the Presidency says that Haradinaj did not want to wait.
"The meeting was planned to be held, but due to protocol reasons, it was not realized. Mr. Haradinaj did not want to wait until the protocol notified the President of his arrival", said the media adviser of the Presidency, Bekim Kupina.
He added that Osmani's invitation to Haradinaj remains open.
"Despite this, President Osmani has left open the possibility of a meeting in the following days, whenever the head of AAK considers that issues of national importance should be discussed and addressed. The door of the Presidency continues to remain open", he added.
Osmani has invited the three leaders of the opposition parliamentary parties to discuss the draft of the Association proposed by the mediators. Until now, she has met only with the chairman of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku.
