The Kosovo Police, in a joint operation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, arrested two people on suspicion of espionage with the Serbian Intelligence Agency (BIA).

One of them is Bedri Shabani from Ferizaj, who worked at the Kosovo Customs.

Periscope learns that Shabani is the father of journalist Zekirja Shabani, who is the owner of the "Fakte plus" portal, while a year ago he was also an editor at ATV television.

Currently, he is the author and moderator of the show "Somewhere in Kosovo", which is broadcast on the same television.

Zekirja Shabani has been very active in the electoral campaign of North Macedonia, in support of VLEN. He has prepared the election campaign for Afrim Gashi, who was elected Speaker of the Assembly of North Macedonia.

Regarding the arrest of Bedri Shabani, the Kosovo Customs has also reacted, clarifying that he left his post at the Customs in 2004.

According to the announcement, Shabani's dismissal was due to violations of the Kosovo Customs Code of Conduct, related to unauthorized communications with mass media.
