Diplomat Sokol Gjoka has said that Serbia has tried to stop Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe. He said that Vučič wants to prevent the membership of Kosovo through the vote in the Council of Ministers of Kosovo, but that seems like something impossible to achieve.
He added that, on the other hand, the European Union is trying to pull Serbia away from itself.
"The EU tries to pull Serbia away from itself as much as possible. Knowing that Serbia moves in several seats, not only between Russia, but also some other big partners, then it is the duty of the EU to attract it as much as possible not only politically, but also economically and militarily.
It was not without purpose that Vučić went and made that agreement for the purchase of military aircraft in France, to show that here I cooperate with the main countries of the EU. Second, to show that it buys military weapons related to the field of security, defense, etc. And thirdly, to be a little more friendly with France, under the conditions that Kosovo is moving towards membership.
But I think that Serbia and Vucic will continue their fight until the end, preventing Kosovo from joining the Council of Ministers. That committee continues its work and has started lobbying. According to all calculations, it results that Kosovo gets this place, but the work should not be stopped until that moment", said Gjoka to Euronews.
