The former ambassador of the United States of America in Kosovo, Greg Delawie, has called on the five member countries of the European Union, starting from Spain, Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia and Greece, to recognize the independence of Kosovo.

Through a post on Twitter, Delawie wrote that this is the way to contribute to sustainable peace in the Balkans.

"It is definitely time for Spain, Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia and Greece to recognize the reality of Kosovo's independence and contribute to sustainable peace in the Balkans ," wrote Delawie.
