The member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Zenun Pajaziti, criticizes the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, for making the CBK regulation that prohibits the use of the dinar for payments within Kosovo, a topic in the dialogue. He says that due to the wrong and populist approach of Kurti, the internal issues of Kosovo are becoming a topic in the dialogue with Serbia in Brussels.
Pajaziti, in an interview for KosovaPress, says that the actions of the government, uncoordinated with the allies, are costing the country a lot.
Although the executive has said that they will not appear at the political level, at the meeting called by the EU on February 27 in Brussels, Pajaziti declares that the Government has not made any creative effort to address this issue with the international partners in Kosovo. .
"If it was left in the hands of the CBK or if the government did not interfere with tendencies to present this issue with populism as a success of the government, this would be resolved better. The government has made no creative effort to address this issue. Moreover, he raised the issue of the dinar as a matter of dialogue. This government has full responsibility for making the dinar such a topic, which is costing the government and us as a country. These, like the other times, have entered the topics without an agreement with the partners, the ones we constantly have full coordination behind, and then the withdrawal has cost us a lot ," he adds.
According to him, Kosovo's relations with international allies, especially with the United States of America, are worrying.
" We have a situation, the first since we are an independent state, that we have been given such a position by the United States of America and by our allies like this now. Issues like this that our government has dealt with for solutions, in the way it has dealt with, such as the dinar and the earlier table issues, are the most populist ways of dealing with them. We are not dealing with a seriousness of solving these problems that have been part of the dialogue, but completely populist actions, which more than an attempt to solve these problems once and for all, are aimed at luring voters to the processes next election. This especially harms our interest as a country and the relationship with our partners and our friends, moreover ", Pajaziti emphasizes.
Pajaziti sees the decision on the dinar as related to the tendencies, as he says, to delay the implementation of the obligations in the dialogue, derived from the Brussels agreement, reached last year.
"We do not know at all what is the goal of this government. Are you working on the implementation of this agreement? Is it coordinated with key partners and what is its purpose? We are remaining hostage to a process which is dragging on, now not only from Belgrade, which everyone knows, but also from Pristina. Our partners are asking that, even if unilaterally, the dialogue process is carried out, so that we can have the partners by our side ", says Pajaziti.
On the other hand, speaking about the possibility of new elections in Kosovo, he says that the PDK is ready for the same and that this year could be electoral.
" It is the year which could be electoral. We, as PDK, have been asking for election processes since last year and have warned the citizens that this government can bring down the country in this current position, especially in relation to the key processes and in relation to our partners. We have warned and demanded elections. We thought that this government does not have the vision and courage to close such an important process. That's why we asked for elections. The very fact that we have been asking for elections since last year means that we are ready for this process ", he concludes.
The European Union has invited a meeting on February 27 in Brussels, between the Kosovar and Serbian sides to discuss, among other things, the CBK regulation.
Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has said that they will not participate in this meeting, but has hinted that lower-level technical officials can participate. / KosovaPress
