The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Speaker of the Parliament, Glauk Konjufca, the Minister of the Interior, Xhelal Sveçla and other government officials today visited the grave of the sergeant, Afrim Bunjaku, who lost his life in the attack in Banjska a year ago.
During the homage, the kurti and other officials laid wreaths on Bunjak's grave.
Kurti said in front of the media that Bunjak's sacrifice was worth it for the police, the state and future generations. The Prime Minister said that in every corner of Kosovo is the state of the democratic and independent Republic.
"On the side of Kosovo in every corner is the state of the democratic and independent Republic of Kosovo, which we serve with honor and dedication. This sacrifice, this sacrifice of the police sergeant, the hero Afrim Bunjaku, has been worth it for the police, for the state and future generations", said Kurti.
He added that the number of new police officers is increasing and that the morale of the police and army has never been higher. Kurti emphasized that Afrim Bunjak's colleagues who were with him in the battle in Banjska, did not let his dead body fall into the hands of enemy forces.
"After Afrim Bunjaku fell, not many other policemen fell and those who were in battle with him did not allow the dead body of our hero to fall into the hands of the enemy forces", stated Kurti.
Kurti added that the forces that were financed and directed by Serbia with paramilitaries who had much more weapons than Afrim Bunjaku and his friends, fled in shame and left their dead and their comrades behind.
"Today they are hiding in Serbia because they know that they have lost the battle once and for all with our country and people. "Serbia is responsible, so it must give responsibility, and at this point we ask for the support and help of the international factor," said Kurti.
Konjufca also spoke about the attack, who said that today they are to honor the hero Afrim Bunjaku.
"He is a hero who heroically fell in defense of the sovereignty of the Republic. He gave the best example of when the homeland is endangered and threatened, how life must be given and the individual denied for the common good. We will always remember him as we remember Enver Zymberi who fell for the same purpose. These are the ideals that our heroes cultivate and nurture," said Konjufca.
