This September 24th marks the one year anniversary of the fall of the Hero Afrim Bunjaku, the Kosovo operative killed one year ago today in a terrorist attack by Serbian criminal gangs, in the north of the country.
The event happened in the village of Banjské in Zveçan, while Bunjaku was on duty.
On September 24, 2023, an armed group led by ex-politician Millan Radoicic, attacked the Kosovo Police in Banjska, where Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed as a result. International reactions were immediate, condemning the attack.
Within the framework of the 1st anniversary of the fall of Hero Bunjaku, activities will be organized in Kosovo, under the patronage of Prime Minister Albin Kurti. In this context, at 09:00, visits will be made to the family of the Hero Afrim Bunjaku, at 09:30 a tribute will be paid to the grave of the Hero Afrim Bunjaku and wreaths will be placed, as well as the inauguration of the arrangement of the plaque and the hero's tomb.
Also in memory of this day from 15:00, the Memorial Academy is held in the Red Hall, Palace of Youth - Pristina.
Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was declared "Hero of Kosovo" by President Vjosa Osmani. The latter has stated that the murdered sergeant was challenged by Belgrade gangs while defending the dignity of the Republic of Kosovo.
