The former prime minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, has stated that in this situation where the north is, Kurti should have discussed and consulted with the Assembly, the president and the opposition so that he would not feel alone in front of the internationals who are more on the side of Serbia.
Mustafa has stated that the new elections in the north will provide a solution only if the Serbs will participate and Serbia will not order the boycott of these elections again.
"The new elections solve the situation if the Serbs will participate in the elections and if Serbia will not influence them to boycott the elections. I think that a communication should be created so that they go to the elections and not get into a situation where the elections there are obstructed by Serbia. This is the essence of exercising sovereignty in the north of the country, we can talk about legality and the constitution, but without political agreement and communication, it is difficult to implement the laws", said Mustafa in a link to "Tirana Live".
The former prime minister has also commented on the fact that such a situation affects or not the dialogue between the two countries, where he emphasizes that already with all the tensions in the north, Serbia is at an advantage in the eyes of the international community.
"I don't think that the dialogue with Serbia has been compromised, but the latter is at an advantage compared to Kosovo. Serbia can make remarks as to why the association has not been implemented, but this has been hindered by them, when I was prime minister, I asked them to come to my office, but they were hindered by Serbia. And I am sure that if the same thing is requested again and again, we will have an obstacle from the side of Serbia since they do not want peace, he said.
