The Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, has spoken about the decision of the EU to liberalize visas for the Serbian minority living in Kosovo. She has stated that some actors within the European Union are working for the division of Kosovo. Gërvalla added that the EU's decision leads to the wrong path.
She emphasized that Kosovo should not be silent "before these wrong steps of the EU".
"We have not hesitated to continuously warn and inform the important actors in the European Union as you see they have taken a decision which, in our judgment, not only leads to the wrong path, but makes you understand that some actors in the EU are not so interested in an even better integration of the minorities, of the non-Albanian minorities in Kosovo, in this case of the Serbian minorities, but work more towards their separation.
We think that this is the wrong way, we think that the fastest possible integration of all citizens of Kosovo with legal documents of Kosovo in all spheres leads to a better atmosphere for all of them and for all of us. We are not silent so that such erroneous steps are not repeated, but you should be aware that the decisions for the EU are made by the EU and not by Kosovo", said Gërvalla.
