The reactions and criticisms of the German MPs for the non-inclusion of Kosovo in the agenda of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe have continued. The deputies of the Bundestag, Knut Abraham and Michael Roth, have also been harsh in their reactions.
Abraham, through a post on the "X" platform, like other German MPs, criticized the government of his country for not supporting Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.
" The non-acceptance of Kosovo, after all the conditions were met, weakens the EC's credibility. There is not much to celebrate on this 75th birthday if the Committee of Ministers simply ignores the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. And while 13 countries have supported Kosovo today, Germany has not ," wrote Abraham.
Meanwhile, the other deputy, Michael Roth, said that Europe is losing its influence in the Western Balkans, while China and Russia are gaining ground.
" Dirty. Europe will lose more and more influence in the Western Balkans. The situation is getting worse. Nationalism, authoritarianism, the growing influence of China and Russia in the region are a threat. Leadership and courage matter. The Council of Europe will not be complete without Kosovo ," wrote Roth.
The social democratic deputy, Frank Schwabe, also reacted to the position of the German Government regarding the non-inclusion of Kosovo in the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
The latter was committed to securing 2/3 of the votes for Kosovo in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, through a post on the X platform, he said that next week's meeting of the Permanent Committee of the Council of Europe will discuss the next steps
" The failure of the [German] government to admit Kosovo to the Council of Europe today after the approval of over 80 percent in the Parliamentary Assembly is a serious mistake. Kosovo fulfills the obligations defined by the Parliamentary Assembly ", wrote Schwabe.
