The Ministry of Finance allocated funds, public transportation in Pristina

After 9 days, public transportation has returned to Pristina.

Urban Traffic and private transporters have started operating on a regular schedule today after the Ministry of Finance allocated funds to the budget of the municipality of Pristina.

"During the last few days, the interruption of transport has been inevitable due to the financial impossibility created by the Municipality's non-payment of obligations to the enterprise. We sincerely regret the difficulties that citizens have been forced to face during these days without public transport service and we thank them for the understanding shown," the municipal public enterprise "Trafiku Urban" said in a statement.

The Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers announced that it had allocated financial resources worth 2.7 million euros for the category of goods and services, a fund dedicated to paying public transport operators in Pristina.

On November 24, private transport workers in Pristina protested after a transport blockade, demanding payment. Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) employees also went on a strike that lasted several hours. For 9 days, there has been no public transport in the capital of Kosovo, creating difficulties for citizens to move around the city and its surroundings.
