The mother was killed, the father in prison; who will take custody of

Liridona Ademaj was killed by her husband, Naim Murseli. At least that's what the initial investigations of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina say. Her two children, one 4 and the other 6 years old, were present when the car they were traveling in was stopped by Granit Plava, who allegedly killed their mother.

Both sons have taken the story told by their father as true – their car was stopped by robbers and their mother was forgotten there. Currently, the children are in the Murseli family home and under the care of their grandparents. They still don't know that their mother is no longer alive.

However, what will happen to the fate of the two boys, now left almost without either parent?

Both of these children have only Swedish citizenship and the question for everyone is: what are the Swedish policies in such cases?

The center for social work in Gjakovë is making daily visits to the house of Shaban Mursel (Naim's father) but, according to them, they cannot tell the truth to the children since they only speak Swedish.

From this institution they said that their condition is stable, but they refused to give details. The Institute for Social Policy Development has called for the children to be sent to Sweden as soon as possible since, according to them, they will be able to receive all the appropriate services there.

Meanwhile, regarding the decision of which family will have custody of the two children, the director of this institute, Vebi Mujku, said that the Court will decide on this after taking into account all the circumstances of the case. On the other hand, mental health experts say that the event that the children experienced will have great consequences.

Dorjan Krasniqi, child psychologist, said that such situations are difficult for children to accept, especially when they realize that their father, who should have been their protector, took their mother's life. , she said about Klan Kosova.

Krasniqi explained in detail about the consequences that the children may have in the future.

"If the event happened at night, it may be difficult for them to go out at night in places where they don't feel safe. Anything you remember at the tragic moment can increase traumatic stress."

Meanwhile, according to sociologist Genc Xërxa, he said that the relevant institutions should be maximally committed to the well-being and mental health of children. We remind you that Kosovo has always had a problem with the institution for the welfare of children without care due to the lack of adequate mechanisms and policies.
