Five days have passed since perhaps the worst conflict that erupted in Kosovo since its independence in 2008. Four people were killed, at least three Kosovo Serb attackers and an Albanian policeman.
The Battle of Banjska is still shrouded in mystery and there are no answers to key questions or even if, we don't know if we can trust them.
To clarify this fog, which, thankfully, is not yet a fog of war, "N1" turned to political analyst Dushan Janjic from the Forum for Ethnic Relations in Belgrade. He has revealed the secrets of the attack.
" Everything here is clear, except that we don't know who shot first. It is clear that that action was intercepted, because it enabled KFOR and KPS (Kosovo Police Service) to coordinate their activities. It is clear that these people have ultimately been deceived like Wagner who headed for Moscow. And the handwriting is clear. But it is not clear what the relationship between Russia and America is in this game, but it definitely exists ," Janjić believes.
But who actually carried out this paramilitary action in Banjska, which obviously ended very badly for the aggressors? Janjic answers us: " It is the Civil Defense, which has been reorganized very surprisingly, from the northern team and has professional shooters. There are still some others who have to leave because they have not reached Serbia and they have nowhere to go because KFOR is now at the border and their announced exercises are continuing" .
" It is clear that the goal was to make an incident on that road to enter the village of Banjska and the monastery. There they had prepared trenches, infrastructure and had weapons. They expected the involvement of people who should probably have been politically mobilized from the Serbian List and create something similar to the Tito-era Republic of Užice (territory in Serbia that was briefly under Partisan control in 1941), but something else happened. That plan failed ," explains Janjic.
According to him, there were 50 believers from Novi Sad in the monastery at that time. A typical hostage crisis. He adds that the plan was to cause drama.
" There were 30 of them, but they had weapons for 400 men and they had to capture that number. Locals from that village had to be included there, with Zubin Potok as a background. That was their strategy. It was not a classic army, they did not have all the necessary equipment ", adds the Serbian analyst.
According to him, the plan was that up to 5 thousand engaged people could go and that would be a problem. He suspects that KFOR was aware of Radoicic's action, but deliberately let him act.
