The senior adviser of the American State Department, Derek Chollet, is expected to visit Kosovo on July 30 and 31.
His visit to Kosovo has not been confirmed by the Government or the Office of the President. The US Embassy in Kosovo did not declare Cholleti's stay in Kosovo either, although they did not deny it.
However, those familiar with the developments of the dialogue mention the issues that are expected to be the focus of his visit. Analyst Visar Xani says that dialogue and relations between the two states will be the main topics.
"Commitment to dialogue, continued trust and partnership with the US are the key themes that we will expect, and definitely the American commitment and the American message will come directly from him to show that the journey will be joint and not there should be dilemmas and collaborations in the coordination of processes, and the defined American projects should definitely have the support of the Government of Kosovo and there should be no doubts ", he said.
According to Xani, the visit of the high representative of the State Department should be well used by the Kosovar authorities.
" It is important that every time diplomatic messages, even more so if we have messages from a high representative of the state department, we correctly understand and act correctly in accordance with those messages and do not have certain misunderstandings because then there may be consequences ", he emphasized.
Chollet visited Kosovo at the beginning of this year. His visit at the end of July comes at a time when he has been nominated by the US president, Joe Biden, to be the undersecretary of defense.
