The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has strongly condemned the threats against young Serbian policemen. According to him, Serbia's violent efforts to prevent the integration of ethnic Serbs into Kosovo's institutions must stop now.
"I condemn the despicable threats against young policemen of the Kosovo Police, officials from non-majority communities. Serbia's violent efforts to prevent the integration of ethnic Serbs into Kosovo's institutions must stop now. All citizens of our Republic have the right to serve their country without revenge", said Kurti.
Officials from non-majority communities have begun work this week in the north of the country. Veton Elshani, deputy commander of the KP for the North Region, has announced that the new Serbian policemen in the KP are from different parts of Kosovo, including the northern municipalities - Mitrovica, Leposaviqi and Zubin Potoku.
"46 of the officers are Serbs, 17 Bosnians, 8 Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians and 3 Turks. They started on Monday. Now, through practical work, they are additionally trained to work in patrols and other necessary tasks. They will be trained in different stages," he said.
