The meeting place of the Klinas on the day of the protest on 25.07.2023, was between two squares, that of Muje Krasniqi and Ndue Perlleshi. This is a symbolism that these two men guard our Klina from both sides. Both of these great men fought to the point of sacrifice, so that today we can live freely and enjoy life in our ancestral lands. We will honor their work and contribution as much as bread-bread and water-water, and the greatest honor to them is to LIVE IN OUR COUNTRY. If yesterday it was patriotism to fight for the liberation of our country, today we rightly say that it is patriotism to protect our country from pollution and protect the health of our parents and children.
It's been 4 years since the residents are in an unequal battle, a battle which is against everyone but belongs to the residents, and the residents are more important than everyone else. The residents did not go to build their houses at the cement factory, but the cement factory wants to be built near our houses, and since that is the case, we will live in our houses, while the cement factory will not be built.
This is the gentlest way to express our opposition to this evil that is threatening Klina with its surroundings. In these 4 years, we have knocked on every door and moved every stone so that the idea of building a cement factory in Klina does not come to life.
As a result of the voice of the protests, last year a decision was issued to suspend all permits until the end of the judicial process between MPL and the Municipality of Klina. Today, even though this decision to suspend permits is in effect, the residents are still not calm because the suspension is not enough for us, we want this black cloud that threatens our beautiful Klina day by day, to be removed once and for all. Our voice has resounded strongly in every corner of Kosovo and beyond Kosovo, we have built allies in our battle, so I am proud to say that now in support of our cause there are more than 10 civil society organizations from all parts of Kosovo which together with their membership are present in this protest. We have met and received support from the Mayors of the Municipalities around Klina, such as the Mayors of Peja, Istog and Malisheva,
The mayor who does not represent the interests of the citizens
It is hard to think and much harder to say that today, in 2023, 24 years after the liberation of Kosovo, there is an attempt to block free speech and the right to protest. The leaders of the municipality of Klina, in addition to the high damages and great suffering they caused to its inhabitants, also tried to prevent the peaceful protest to oppose the biggest post-war enemy, that of the destruction of the environment, i.e. the cement factory. The protest was led by an improvised stage in a van, a stage which was realized at the last moment because the stage which was planned to be set up was not allowed by the municipal bodies of this undemocratic government. Chairman Mr. Elezaj, had promised that as long as there are residents against the construction of the cement factory, I will not allow this factory to be built, let alone that I don't listen to the objections of the residents, but unfortunately he became the middleman for this factory to be built in our municipality. And today the citizen of Klina has understood this trick that was done to him, today we are here to raise our voice against the trick of the local government and the big tricks of the state against the residents of Klina.

Protesta e zhvilluar në qendër të Klinës me moton "Të jetojmë në vendin tonë" kundër fabrikës së çimentos në Klinë, pati jehonë edhe në mediat ndërkombëtare. Agjencione dhe media të ndryshme ishin të pranishme në Klinë me datë 25.07.2023, për të ndjekur nga afër protestën e organizuar nga banorët e komunës së Klinës. Një vapë me temperatura ekstreme nuk pengoj shumë njerëz që të dalin në sheshin kryesor në Klinë për të shprehur kundërshtimin e tyre ndaj idesë për ndërtimin e fabrikës së çimentos.
Klina was filled with local and international journalists, who followed and documented the event, the images of this protest which were distributed all over the world. Journalists from the Voice of America section were also in Klina and reported directly from this area. They prepared a material for the news edition, bringing the events and feelings that led to the protest of the residents of Klina.
