President Vjosa Osmani has said that there was unnecessary and illegal pressure from the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo to make a decision regarding the decree of the chief state prosecutor, although according to her, she was informed of the reason why the decision was not made until October 17 final.
In an interview for KTV's "Tempus", Osmani said that for this decision he received threats from people within the prosecution system.
"It was unprecedented to constantly exert such pressure, knowing that the only thing the Presidency has done is to respect the principles of legal certainty and the rule of law, because if I intervened while the cases were being examined, this would to deny fundamental rights to the opposing candidates and would violate these rights. It was unnecessary and illegal pressure because they knew the reason why they waited until the final decision was taken by the Constitutional Court", said Osmani.
