The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has announced that it came first at the national level in terms of the number of votes won for Municipal Assemblies in the local elections held on October 12, 2025.
According to preliminary results, PDK says it received over 175 thousand votes in this race, leaving behind the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) with around 168 thousand votes and the Self-Determination Movement (VV) with around 156 thousand votes.
“ PDK won in the first round in three municipalities: Ferizaj, Skenderaj and Hani i Elezit.
Meanwhile, based on preliminary results, the Democratic Party of Kosovo will compete in the runoff in six municipalities, of which it came first in four.
"The municipalities where PDK comes first in the run-off are: Prizren, Mitrovica, Vushtrri and Kaçanik. While in Klina and Dragash, PDK comes second in the run-off, " the PDK statement said.
In the capital, PDK emphasizes that it has achieved a historic result in the race for the Pristina Municipal Assembly, where it has collected over 21 thousand votes, ranking for the first time as the second most voted party, while not all ballot boxes have yet been counted.
Meanwhile, in the race for mayor of Pristina, PDK candidate Uran Ismaili ranked third with 28,588 votes, an increase of over 10 thousand votes compared to the 2021 local elections.
