Endrit Thaçi, the son of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi, was invited to Grida Duma's podcast, where he recounted the moments of his visits to his father in The Hague.
Endriti confessed that the family is allowed up to three monthly visits.
Endriti also shared snippets from conversations with his father, providing a human perspective beyond political and judicial developments.
"We discuss various topics, his daily activities, the books he reads. The most difficult moment is when the meeting ends, and we have to leave him inside. It's a huge pain," he said.
Further, he expressed his happiness that he is the son of Hashim Thaçi.
"I am lucky and very happy to be his son, I am the son of a liberator who won the war against Serbia, the son of an architect who made Kosovo independent with his friends, a great responsibility but the pride and happiness is in the sky."
"I didn't think at a young age that I would have to be the head of the family. I was 21 when my father went to The Hague, the responsibility fell on me. Every time he went there, he told me to take care of Mom, Grandma."
Endriti also said that he thinks about his return to Kosovo every day.
"Every day. Every time I sleep and wake up. A hero returning to his land."
